Next Level Youth Ministry - The Next Level Youth Ministry invites middle- and high-school students to join them at 7:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on every 1st and 3rd Monday at 2BC. Come out and learn more about your faith and have fun with your friends. Every next level in life requires a different version of you.
Open Enrollment For Fall 2026 Courses - The Discipleship Development Ministry (DDM) will offer Courses beginning in September 2026. You may review and pick up course flyers at the DDM tables located in the lobby at any time or email 2bcdisciples@gmail.com. Make A Plan To Vote - In the November 3rd Elections, early voting is currently in progress and will continue through October 31, 2026. Please stop by the Security Desk to pick up information on early voting locations.
Women's Day Celebration - The Second Baptist Annual Women's Celebration will be on Sunday, November 1st at 11:15 A.M. All women are asked to please wear the color royal blue.
Attention Ministry Leaders - An important 2BC Website update initiative is starting and it requires your support. Each ministry is asked to review the information and photos on our website for your given ministry and submit changes to Info@2bcsouthside.org or Trustees@2bcsouthside.org by November 1, 2026.
Thanksgiving Assistance - The Missionary Ministry is accepting requests for Thanksgiving assistance thru Nov. 2nd. One request per family can be emailed to 2BCMissionary@gmail.com and should include name, address, and working phone number. To help with funding this outreach effort, you are asked to: a) make a monetary donation via Givelify or Check payable to Second Baptist Church with Thanksgiving noted in the memo; or b) purchase grocery store gift cards (drop-off gift card and receipt at 2BC during business hours). Please purchase gift cards from the store’s Customer Service Center. Contact any Missionary Member for additional information.
Ladies Of Virtue Holiday Tea - The LOV Women’s Ministry invites you to join them for a Holiday Tea on Saturday, November 7th, 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. in the 2BC Fellowship Hall. The cost is $25 per person or $150 to Sponsor a table that seats 6 people. For more information, visit the Holiday Tea Table in the church lobby outside of the Sanctuary.
Special Call Church Meeting - ATTENTION 2BC MEMBERS: There will be a Special Church Meeting at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 10th, 2026 to discuss the Solar Project with Dominion Energy. All members are encouraged to attend.
Medicare 2027 Seminar - The Mature Life and Widows & Friends Ministries will have a guest speaker on November 19th at 1:00 P.M. to discuss the changes to Medicare for 2027. All members who receive Medicare are encouraged to attend. Please sign-up by November 15th at the Security Desk on Sundays or call Carol Underdue at 804-484-0085 by November 15th.
Pre-Thanksgiving Day Orders - Pre-order your fall vegetables to complete your Thanksgiving dinner menu by texting your order to 434-534-2504 or 434-660-2530 from now thru Monday, November 16th. Please include your name, phone number and the vegetables you want in the text message. Orders will be available for pick-up from the 2BC Parking Lot on Thursday, November 19th from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. The following items are available for order: 12-pound bags of Collard, Turnip, Mustard, or Mixed Greens @ $20 per bag; Sweet Potatoes (1/2 bushel) @ $17; Cabbage @ $3.50 per head; Pink Lady Apples (1/2 bushel) @ $20; Smoked Dry-Cured Meat @ $7.50 per pound.
Angel Tree 2026 - The Deaconess Ministry is sponsoring the 2026 Angel Tree program for 2BC children who are in need. To request help, send an email message to deaconess@2bcsouthside.org with names of the parent and child, and a working phone number. Monetary donations to support this program can be made via Givelify or Check made payable to Second Baptist Church and marked “Angel Tree.” Please place Gift Cards with receipts in the designated container located in the church lobby. 2BC Meet And Greet - Will be held on December 13th following Sunday morning worship service. All members are invited to join Pastor Hodge, Ministers, Deacons, Deaconesses, Trustees and Ministry Leaders for this event.
Debt Reduction-T-Shirt Sales - T-shirts sales to support 2BC Debt Reduction will take place on the first and second Sundays of each month through December 2026. The cost is $20.00 per t-shirt.
